TLDR
This work develops methods for applying existing analytical tools to perform analyses on a variety of mathematical and computer models and provides a complete methodology for performing these analyses, in both deterministic and stochastic settings, and proposes novel techniques to handle problems encountered during these types of analyses.

Induction of T-cell memory by a dendritic cell vaccine: a computational model

TL;DR: An ordinary differential equation model is developed that is applicable to more complex vaccination schedules and substantially in any biological condition of prime-boosting, and it is shown that the model is able to envisage the expansion and persistence of antigen-specific memory T cells.

The influence of mask use on the spread of COVID-19 during pandemic in New York City

TL;DR: In this paper , a dynamical model with the effective coverage of wearing face masks to assess the impact of mask use on the COVID-19 transmission was presented, and the results demonstrated a new insight on the effect of mask usage in controlling the transmission of the virus.

Influenza A virus in swine breeding herds: Combination of vaccination and biosecurity practices can reduce likelihood of endemic piglet reservoir

TL;DR: The latency period, infectious period, duration of immunity, and transmission rate for piglets with maternal immunity had the highest correlation with three separate measures of IAV prevalence; therefore, these are parameters that warrant increased attention for obtaining empirical estimates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Understanding dynamics using sensitivity analysis: caveat and solution

TL;DR: It is shown that the PSA coefficients are not suitable in inferring the mechanisms by which dynamical behaviour arises and in fact it can even lead to incorrect conclusions, so a new sensitivity analysis based on impulse perturbations on system parameters is presented, named impulse parametric sensitivity analysis (iPSA).

An Introduction to Multivariate Statistical Analysis

TL;DR: In this article, the distribution of the Mean Vector and the Covariance Matrix and the Generalized T2-Statistic is analyzed. But the distribution is not shown to be independent of sets of Variates.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparison of three methods for selecting values of input variables in the analysis of output from a computer code

TL;DR: In this paper, two sampling plans are examined as alternatives to simple random sampling in Monte Carlo studies and they are shown to be improvements over simple sampling with respect to variance for a class of estimators which includes the sample mean and the empirical distribution function.

Factorial sampling plans for preliminary computational experiments

Max D. Morris
- 01 Jan 1992 -
TL;DR: The proposed experimental plans are composed of individually randomized one-factor-at-a-time designs, and data analysis is based on the resulting random sample of observed elementary effects, those changes in an output due solely to changes in a particular input.
Journal ArticleDOI

Factorial sampling plans for preliminary computational experiments

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of designing computational experiments to determine which inputs have important effects on an output is considered, and experimental plans are composed of individually randomized one-factor-at-a-time designs, and data analysis is based on the resulting random sample of observed elementary effects.
