Abstract
Scalable video coding technique (SVC) was intensively researched in recent years. Motion compensated temporal filtering (MCTF) is an effective method to eliminate the temporal redundancy. This paper present a scalable video codec based on db2 wavelet temporal filtering. In this paper a new method to do MCTF using db2 filters is proposed and it is integrated into a t+2D wavelet based video codec. It is proved to be effective compared to Haar filters by simulation.

Three-dimensional subband coding with motion compensation

TL;DR: The scheme is interpreted more generally, viewed as a motion-compensated short-time spectral analysis of video sequences, which can adapt to the quickness of changes.

Motion-compensated 3-D subband coding of video

TL;DR: A video coding system based on motion-compensated three-dimensional subband/wavelet coding (MC-3DSBC), which can overcome the limits of both 3-D SBC and MC prediction-based coding.

Motion-compensated highly scalable video compression using an adaptive 3D wavelet transform based on lifting

TL;DR: A new framework for the construction of motion compensated wavelet transforms, with application to efficient highly scalable video compression, overcomes the failure of frame warping techniques to preserve perfect reconstruction when tracking complex scene motion.

Bidirectional MC-EZBC with lifting implementation

TL;DR: This paper introduces bidirectional motion compensated temporal filtering with unconnected pixel detection and I blocks and incorporates a recently suggested lifting implementation of the subband/wavelet filter for improved MV accuracy in an MC-EZBC coder.
