A reduced beam and joint concept modeling approach to optimize global vehicle body dynamics

TLDR
In this paper, a reduced beam and joint modeling approach is presented to analyze and optimize the global bending and torsion modes of a vehicle body. And the results show that the effect of these physical modifications can be accurately predicted with the fast sensitivity analysis.

Simplified modelling of joints and beam-like structures for BIW optimization in a concept phase of the vehicle design process

TL;DR: In this paper, an engineering approach for the replacement of beam-like structures and joints in a vehicle model is proposed, based on the reduced beam and joint modelling approach, which involves a geometric analysis of beam member cross-sections and a static analysis of joints.

Analysis of and workarounds for element reversal for a finite element-based algorithm for warping triangular and tetrahedral meshes

TL;DR: Sometimes FEMWARP reverses elements; this is the main concern in this paper, and several techniques are proposed to make the method more robust against reversals.

A complete development process of finite element software for body-in-white structure with semi-rigid beams in .NET framework

TL;DR: A semi-rigid beam element that consists of a beam element with two semi- rigged connections at the ends to simulate the flexibility of joint is exploited and the efficiency of the SRBE is demonstrated by a benchmarking automotive body.
