TLDR
In this article, a series of experiments were carried out in the two stages of this process, photolithography and wet chemical etching, and it was found that the mixture solution of HNO3:H3PO4:H2O = 8.5:59.5%:32% (mass percentage) is a suitable etchant for the wetchemical etching of carbon steel.

State of the Art in Laser Surface Texturing

TL;DR: Laser Surface Texturing (LST) is probably the most advanced surface texturing technique as mentioned in this paper and it produces a very large number of micro-dimples on the surface and each of these microdimples can serve either as a micro-hydrodynamic bearing in cases of full or mixed lubrication.

A Laser Surface Textured Parallel Thrust Bearing

TL;DR: In this article, the potential use of a new technology of laser surface texturing (LST) in parallel thrust bearings is theoretically investigated, where the surface texture has the form of micro-dimples with pre-selected diameter, depth, and area density.
