TLDR
Purpura occurring during convalescence can best be explained on the assumption of an allergic basis, similar perhaps to that to which nephritis following streptococcal infections has been attributed.

The Spectrum of Vasculitis: Clinical, Pathologic, Immunologic, and Therapeutic Considerations

TL;DR: In recent years, several of the more serious vasculitides, such as Wegener's granulomatosis and the systemic necrotizing vascultides of the polyarteritis nodosa group, have been shown to be extraordinarily responsive to chronic low-dose cytotoxic therapy, particularly cyclophosphamide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anaphylactoid purpura in children (Schonlein-Henoch syndrome): review with a follow-up of the renal complications.

TL;DR: The use of the term "anaphylactoid" purpura was first used by Frank in 1915, and this idea was developed further by Glanzmann 10 in 1920.

Drug-induced immune thrombocytopenia: pathogenesis, diagnosis, and management

TL;DR: The most important aspects of patient management are a high index of suspicion and a careful history of drug exposure in an individual who presents with acute, often severe thrombocytopenia of unknown etiology.

Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia: mechanism of interaction of the heparin-dependent antibody with platelets.

TL;DR: The findings suggest that the reaction of the heparin‐dependent antibody with platelets andHeparin is mediated by a Fc‐dependent mechanism, and GPIb, GPV and GPIX are not involved in this reaction, and the inhibitory effect of anti‐GPIb Mab on normal platelets is due to steric interference consistent with the platelet Fc receptor being in close proximity to G PIb.

Drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia

TL;DR: Hemolytic anemia may develop with red cell destruction being primarily extravascular, and knowledge of clinical manifestations and laboratory aids to diagnosis is necessary to distinguish immunohematologic abnormalities caused by drugs from other causes.

Serum vasoconstrictor (serotonin) the presence of creatinine in the complex; a proposed structure of the vasoconstrictor principle.

TL;DR: It was quickly determined that serotonin sulfate responded positively to both the Jaffe alkaline picrate reagent and the Benedict alkaline 3,5dinitrobenzoic acid reagent, with a color intensity equal to that of creatinine on a molar basis, and the question of whether aCreatinine-like residue was actually part of the molecular structure of serotonin was investigated.
