Effects of mean stress and stress concentration on fatigue behavior of short fiber reinforced polymer composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of mean stress on fatigue behavior of two short glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites and their effect of stress concentration on fatigue behaviour was evaluated using load-controlled fatigue tests on unnotched (smooth) specimens at R ratios of −1, 0.1, and 0.3 in different mold flow directions or fiber orientations.

Cyclic deformation and fatigue behavior of polyether ether ketone (PEEK)

TL;DR: In this paper, the fatigue behavior of a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyether ether ketone (PEEK) was investigated and the frequency influence on the strain-controlled fatigue lives of unfilled PEEK specimens was found to be highly dependent on strain level.

Life prediction for rate-dependent low-cycle fatigue of PA6 polymer considering ratchetting: Semi-empirical model and neural network based approach

TL;DR: The results show that the established Neural network based approach achieves a better prediction to the fatigue life of PA6 with the occurrence of ratchetting than that by the proposed semi-empirical model, which demonstrates a possibility to apply the neural network based machine learning method to deal with the fatigue of polymer.

Uniaxial ratcheting behavior of sintered nanosilver joint for electronic packaging

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of stress amplitude, mean stress, stress rate, and stress ratio on the uniaxial ratcheting behavior of sintered nanosilver joint were investigated at room temperature.

Fatigue behavior and modeling of thermoplastics including temperature and mean stress effects

TL;DR: In this paper, the Walker mean stress model and a simple model with a mean stress sensitivity factor proved to be the most effective models to correlate the wide range of experimental data generated.

Experimental study on ratchetting-fatigue interaction of SS304 stainless steel in uniaxial cyclic stressing

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of mean stress, stress amplitude and stress ratio on the ratchetting strain and final failure life were discussed, and the variations of responded strain amplitude with the number of cycles were illustrated.

A visco-plastic constitutive model for ratcheting of cyclically stable materials and its finite element implementation

TL;DR: In this paper, a visco-plastic constitutive model was proposed to simulate the uniaxial/multiaxual ratcheting of cyclically stable materials (such as U71Mn rail steel), and its finite element implementation was also achieved.
