Root and Shoot Interactions Between Barley and Field Beans When Intercropped
Margarita Martín,R. W. Snaydon +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the yield advantage of intercropping was due mainly to beans and barley using different N sources and root competition had a much greater effect on the relative performance of the two species than did shoot competition.

Methods for study of the Entomophthorales
TL;DR: Methods for isolating Entomophthorales and growing them in vitro and in vivo and for conducting bioassays to study interactions between the pathogens and hosts as well as for studying spores are provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling of Soilborne Pathogens
TL;DR: This review is restricted, for brevity, to the parasitic phase of the disease cycle of fungi, with models for primary infection and nematode infection discussed.
Book ChapterDOI
Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Soilborne Pathogens
TL;DR: A theoretical framework for subterranean epidemics that differs in history and emphasis from that of aerial epidemics is constructed, typified most notably by the attention focused on the reservoir of inoculum in soil and the role of the host in contacting inoculum and spreading disease.

Colorado potato beetle control by application of the entomopathogenic nematode Heterorhabditis marelata and potato plant alkaloid manipulation
TL;DR: Heterorhabditis marelata is effective for controlling CPB in the field, and does not have negative non‐target effects on one of the most common endemic CPB control agents, Myiopharus doryphorae (Riley) (Diptera: Tachinidae), but the low rate of nematode reproduction cannot be manipulated through alkaloid stress to the beetle.
