Vapor‐ and Mechanical‐Grinding‐Triggered Color and Luminescence Switches for Bis(σ‐fluorophenylacetylide) Platinum(II) Complexes

TL;DR: Interestingly, complexes 2-4 exhibit reversible, and naked-eye perceivable, mechanical stimuli-responsive color and luminescence changes, which are most likely correlated to a shorted intermolecular Pt-Pt distance as that revealed in vapochromic species 4·0.5 CH(2)Cl(2), as demonstrated by DTF computational studies.

Cationic Gold(I) π-Complexes of Terminal Alkynes and Their Conversion to Dinuclear σ,π-Acetylide Complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, a suspension of (IPr)AuCl [IPr = 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene] and AgSbF6 with terminal arylacetylenes led to the formation of thermally unstable gold π-alkyne complexes in ≥86 ± 5% yield, which were characterized by spectroscopy without isolation.

Organometallic Compounds for Nonlinear Optics—The Search for En‐light‐enment!

Nicholas J. Long
- 16 Jan 1995 -
TL;DR: The importance of nonlinear optical phenomena has been known for some time, however, since the mid 1980s, there has been an explosion of interest in the search for and development of non-linear optical materials that possess commercial device applications as discussed by the authors.

Luminescent polynuclear d10 metal complexes

TL;DR: A number of polynuclear d10 transition metal complexes have been found to exhibit interesting luminescence properties, such as metal-to-ligand charge transfer, ligand to metal charge transfer and metal-centred to ligand-centered as discussed by the authors.
