Tertiary Uplift and Erosion in the Barents Sea: Magnitude, Timing and Consequences
TL;DR: In 1985 Statoil initiated a multidisciplinary study to evaluate and quantify the amount of uplift and erosion in the Barents Sea as discussed by the authors, and the methods used were: Shale compaction curves, Dc-exponent from drilling, vitrinite reflectance trends, diagenesis of clay minerals, apatite fission track studies, volumetric mass balance calculations of erosion and deposition, and PVT-modeling of known reservoirs.

Real-time drilling optimization based on MWD dynamic measurements
TL;DR: In this article, a closed-loop automated drilling control system that optimizes drilling while taking into account the downhole dynamic behavior and surface parameters is presented, which can be either static or dynamic.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of different failure criteria in prediction of safe mud weigh window in drilling practice
Shahoo Maleki,Raoof Gholami,Vamegh Rasouli,Ali Moradzadeh,Reza Ghavami Riabi,Farhad Sadaghzadeh +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, three failure criteria known as Mohr-coulomb, Hoek-Brown and Mogi-Coulomb were used for prediction of safe mud weigh window.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pore and fracture pressure modeling using direct and indirect methods in Badri Field, Gulf of Suez, Egypt
TL;DR: In this article, the pore pressure and fracture gradient were evaluated using well logging data namely density, resistivity, gamma-ray and sonic logs obtained from offshore wells in Badri Field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overpressure compartments in the central paleo-uplift, Sichuan Basin, southwest China
TL;DR: In this paper, a pore pressure evolution model for the Sichuan Basin was constructed, which is characterized by roughly normal pressure before 200 Ma, overpressuring from 200 to 90 Ma, and overpressure releasing since 90 Ma.
