The effect of marine growth and damage severity on the modal parameters of offshore wind turbine supporting structures: an experimental study

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of marine growth and damage severity on the modal parameters of a scaled experimental model of a monopile used in supporting offshore wind turbines is investigated, especially when these parameters are used as damage indicators, further improving existing structural health monitoring techniques in determining if the changes observed in modality parameters are caused by actual damage rather than the growth of marine organisms with time.

Optimal Frequency-Domain System Realization with Weighting

TL;DR: Several approaches are presented to identify an experimental system model directly from frequency response data using an eigenvalue assignment technique and nonlinear programming methods to minimize the desired cost function.

What can we learn about the wolf phenomenon from a linearized analysis

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the features of the linearized modal dynamics of the bowed string/body coupled model and explored the influence of bowing parameters on the modal frequency and damping.

From traditional experimental modal analysis (ema) to operational modal analysis (oma), an overview

TL;DR: Major OMA procedures are presented based on the general framework, which offers a new perspective on understanding existing OMA techniques and possibility of exploring new ones and special issues of operational modal identification and challenges for OMA have been summarized.

Modeling and motion control of inchworm considering nonlinearities

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new modeling scheme to describe the hysteresis and the preload characteristics of piezoelectric stack actuators in the inchworm.
