Local damage detection using incomplete modal data
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method that can identify the location and estimate the severity of damage in a structure using limited modal data such as: (1) few of the lower natural frequencies and mode shapes, (2) limited measurements of degrees of freedom, and (3) spatially incomplete measurements of mode shapes.

DSP Implementation of an Active Bearing Mount for Rotors Using Hybrid Control
Mingsian R. Bai,Weibin Luo +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an on-line active technique for suppressing rotor vibration is proposed, where electromagnetic actuators are mounted on the housing of a ball bearing for generating counter forces to cancel the transverse vibrations due to imbalance, misalignment, and so forth.

Fuzzy instrumental variable approach for nonlinear discrete-time systems identification in a noisy environment
G. L. O. Serra,C. P. Bottura +1 more
TL;DR: Simulation results show the efficiency of the FIV algorithm for nonlinear system identification in a noisy environment and its application for modeling of an aluminium beam, with free-free configuration, which is commonly used for active vibration control design in aircrafts and aerospace vehicles.

Structural Condition Assessment of Birecik Highway Bridge Using Operational Modal Analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, the beam compartment of a reinforced concrete highway bridge is investigated and three-dimensional finite element model of the beam compartments of the bridge is constituted using SAP2000 to determine the dynamic characteristics.

Retrospective cost adaptive thrust control of a 1D scramjet with Mach number disturbance
TL;DR: This work uses retrospective cost adaptive control (RCAC) to control the thrust generated by a scramjet and applies system identification techniques to fit a linear model to the data generated by the scramjet model to investigate the dependence of scramjet dynamics on the Mach number.
