Dosimetry for FLASH Radiotherapy: A Review of Tools and the Role of Radioluminescence and Cherenkov Emission

TL;DR: It is shown that luminescent detectors have a key role to play in the development of FLASH, as the field rapidly progresses toward clinical adaptation, and the unique ability of certain luminescence-based methods to provide tumor oxygenation maps in real-time with submillimeter resolution can elucidate the radiobiological mechanisms behind the FLASH effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA Repair Deficiency Regulates Immunity Response in Cancers: Molecular Mechanism and Approaches for Combining Immunotherapy

Yi Xu, +2 more
- 01 Mar 2023 -
TL;DR: In this article , the authors explore how defects in the DNA repair pathway can affect the immune system's ability to fight cancer and examine clinical trials that have combined inhibition of DNA damage response with immune-oncology treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron Beam Profile Assessment of Linear Accelerator Using Startrack Quality Assurance Device

TL;DR: It is concluded that StarTrack 2D array detector is favourable in the QA process because their implementation is not only easy, but gives information about the beam’s temporal stability and is particularly suitable for beam steering mounting.
Dissertation

Radiobiological considerations in proton beam therapy: influence of different treatment planning optimization approaches on the dose-averaged linear energy transfer distribution

TL;DR: It is suggested that within the next few years the number of kurzfASSUNGs in Germany will more than double to about 20,000, while in the past it was about 10,000.
