Journal ArticleDOI

Novel current-conducting composite substrates for exposing osteoblasts to alternating current stimulation.

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that electrical stimulation delivered through novel, current-conducting polymer/nanophase composites promotes osteoblast functions that are responsible for the chemical composition of the organic and inorganic phases of bone.
Journal ArticleDOI

Treatment of ununited tibial diaphyseal fractures with pulsing electromagnetic fields.

TL;DR: Patients with ununited fractures of the tibial diaphysis were treated exclusively with pulsing electromagnetic fields and the over-all success rate in healing with this surgically non-invasive out-patient method was 87 per cent.
Journal ArticleDOI

A multicenter study of the treatment of non-union with constant direct current.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the practicing orthopaedic surgeon utilizing constant direct current to treat non-union should be able to achieve a rate of union comparable to that of bone-graft surgery, with a lower associated risk.
