Abstract
Much attention has been focused in the past generation on the growth of the Jewish day school in the United States.1 Yet, despite the remarkable expansion of all-day Jewish schooling, well over half of the children enrolled in a Jewish school in any given year participate in a program of supplementary education. This “market share” alone warrants interest in the educational success of the supplementary school and, indeed, recent studies have brought renewed focus to this arena.2
