Charged AdS black holes and catastrophic holography
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compute the properties of a class of charged black holes in anti-de Sitter space-time, in diverse dimensions and uncover rich thermodynamic phase structures for these systems, which display classic critical phenomena, including structures isomorphic to the van der Waals-Maxwell liquid-gas system.

Seismic Ray Theory
V Cerveny,James G. Berryman +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the elastodynamics and its simple solutions of dynamic ray tracing are discussed. But they do not consider the effect of the propagation speed of the ray on the propagation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Holography, thermodynamics, and fluctuations of charged AdS black holes
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the thermodynamic properties of Reissner-Nordstrom black holes in (n11)-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime and compared them to the physics of a class of n-dimensional field theories coupled to a background global current.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase transitions and critical fluctuations in the visual coordination of rhythmic movements between people.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the differential stability of the 2 phase modes and found that the asymmetric phase mode was less stable as the frequency of oscillation increased, while the symmetric mode was more comfortable than the alternate phase mode.
Journal ArticleDOI
The relative impact of cognitive anxiety and self-confidence upon sport performance: a meta-analysis.
Tim Woodman,Lew Hardy +1 more
TL;DR: This meta-analysis investigated two relationships in competitive sport: (1) state cognitive anxiety with performance and (2) state self- confidence with performance, finding that the magnitude of the self-confidence mean effect size was significantly greater than that of the cognitive anxietymean effect size.
