Antiviral activity of lignans and their glycosides from Justicia procumbens

TL;DR: Ten antiviral lignans, seven known and three new compounds, were isolated from a methanolic extract of the aerial parts of Justicia procumbens var.

Journal ArticleDOI

Arylnaphthalene lignans from in vitro cultures of Linum austriacum.

TL;DR: Callus, suspension, and normal and hairy root cultures of Linum austriacum produced a new arylnaphthalene lignan, 3,4-dimethoxy-3',4'-methylenedioxy-2,7'-cycloligna-7, 7'-dieno-9,9'-lactone, established using spectroscopic methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

(+)-Pinoresinol/(-)-lariciresinol reductase from Linum perenne Himmelszelt involved in the biosynthesis of justicidin B.

TL;DR: A cDNA encoding a pinoresinol–lariciresinol reductase PLR was isolated from a cell culture of Linum perenne Himmelszelt accumulating the arylnaphthalene lignan justicidin B, the first PLR described with opposite enantiospecificity within the two reaction steps catalysed by PLRs.
