TL;DR: A field study of the seasonal growth of Nardus stricta showed that leaf turnover was slow, averaging 2.5 leaves per tiller over the growing season, and the age class of inter-connected tillers on rhizome tips greatly influenced growth, which provided evidence for acropetal movement of assimilate.

Relative growth rate and hemerobiotic state in the assessment of disturbance gradients

TL;DR: A significant correlation between mean hemerobiotic value, resulting from the phytosociological study, and measured RGR of juvenile plants emerges, and Specific Leaf Area is highly correlated with RGR, and thus explains most of its variations, as previously found in other studies.
