Inter-annual variation in the soil seed bank of flood-meadows over two years with different flooding patterns

TL;DR: The results of this study suggest that persistent soil seed banks are of outstanding importance to bridge and exploit the highly variable hydrological conditions that are typical of flood-meadows and play a significant role in maintaining the floristic diversity of this habitat type over time and space.

Long-term effects of stream management on plant communities in two Danish lowland streams

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors quantify long-term impacts of weed-cutting on macrophyte communities in two Danish rivers and find that the total coverage of macrophytes is similar in the weed-cut and uncut reaches in the two rivers, but species richness, diversity and patch complexity are higher in the uncut reach.
