TLDR
In this article, selected experimental results concerning complex radar-object backscattering and polarisation-dependent receiver responses are presented; in particular the optimum responses that are obtainable, and the experiments are related to a study of the applicability of adaptive polarisation for the improvement of target detection in clutter.
Abstract
Herein, selected experimental results concerning complex radar-object backscattering and polarisation-dependent receiver responses are presented; in particular the optimum responses that are obtainable. The objects are a boresight tower and an apartment-block conglomerate. The experiments are related to a study of the applicability of adaptive polarisation for the improvement of target detection in clutter.

Polarization Detection of a Fluctuating Radar Target

TL;DR: In this paper, a mathematical framework is developed which allows a polarization description of a received radar signal for the purpose of target-clutter discrimination, and statistical models that include all changes in the polarization of an incident radar signal upon reflection are also developed for both targets and clutter.
