This article conducted interviews with 333 African-American, Anglo/European-American and Hispanic-American public school children in Grades 1-2, 4-5, and 8-9.Abstract:
Little is known about social networks in childhood, and even less is known about the networks of ethnically diverse children. Interviews were conducted with 333 African-American, Anglo/European-American, and Hispanic-American public school children in Grades 1-2, 4-5, and 8-9. The research was based on the social convoy model (R. L. Kahn & T. C. TL;DR: This meta-analysis evaluated the relation between social support and depression in youth and compared the cumulative evidence for 2 theories that have been proposed to explain this association: the general benefits (GB) and stress-buffering (SB) models.

Attachment and close relationships across the life span.
TL;DR: Examination of role relationships suggest age differences overall but considerable similarities in the two countries, and there was only one Age × Gender × Country interaction for number of people in close relations.

Parent-child attachment and monitoring in middle childhood.
TL;DR: A more secure attachment was related to closer monitoring and greater cooperation by the child in monitoring situations, especially at sixth grade, illustrating the importance of embedding attachment within a larger child rearing context.
