Coulomb Effects in Inner Bremsstrahlen
R. R. Lewis,G. W. Ford +1 more
TLDR
In this paper, the Coulomb correction to the photon spectrum accompanying beta decay is calculated, treating the Coulom field as a perturbation, and the result differs from that of Knipp-Uhlenbeck-Bloch only by the appearance of an extra factor, related to the Sommerfeld factor in ordinary bremsstrahlen.Abstract:
The Coulomb correction to the photon spectrum accompanying beta decay is calculated, treating the Coulomb field as a perturbation. It is shown that for allowed and unique first forbidden transitions, the result differs from that of Knipp-Uhlenbeck-Bloch only by the appearance of an extra factor, related to the Sommerfeld factor in ordinary bremsstrahlen. Analytic formulas are presented for these two selection rules, and a comparison made with recent experiments.read more

Detour transitions in internal bremsstrahlung
G.W. Ford,C.F. Martin +1 more
TL;DR: The contribution of detour transitions to the internal bremsstrahlung accom- panying nuclear beta decay is calculated in this paper, where it is shown that such contributions will in general be impor- tant for forbidden beta decays.
