Design of a quasi-planar broadside end-coupled bandpass filter

TLDR
In this article, an accurate tridimensional deembedding of the filter discontinuity problem based on the quasi-TEM (transverse electromagnetic) variational spectral domain approach is developed.
Abstract
The design method circumvents the problem of bandwidth limitation imposed on the conventional end-coupled filter realized by coplanar strips. To realize a filter with such a complicated shape, an accurate tridimensional deembedding of the filter discontinuity problem based on the quasi-TEM (transverse electromagnetic) variational spectral-domain approach is developed. This approach leads to the design of a 30% bandwidth bandpass filter which agrees favorably with the measured performance. >
