TLDR
In this article, the concentration of mononuclear dissolved Al is determined in samples of natural waters and of solutions separated from experimental suspensions of clay minerals, by solvent extraction and spectrophotometry of aluminum 8-hydroxyquinoline.

A Procedure for the Fractionation of Aqueous Aluminum in Dilute Acidic Waters

TL;DR: In this article, a procedure was developed for the fractionation of aqueous aluminum, which results in the determination of acid-soluble aluminum, non-labile monomeric aluminum and labile moneric aluminum.
Journal ArticleDOI

‘Acid rain’, dissolved aluminum and chemical weathering at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, New Hampshire

TL;DR: In the Hubhard Brook watershed, the water path length in the soil zone is the crucial factor in the state of acid rain neutralization, aluminum chemistry and chemical weathering as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gibbsite solubility and thermodynamic properties of hydroxy-aluminum ions in aqueous solution at 25°C

TL;DR: In this article, the first unified equilibrium experimental model of Al ion speciation in waters from pH 4 to 9 was presented, based on the standard Gibbs free energies of formation (ΔG°f).
Journal ArticleDOI

The use of a surface complexation model to describe the kinetics of ligand-promoted dissolution of anorthite

TL;DR: In this paper, the dissolution of anorthite (CaAl2Si208) in the presence of fluoride and oxalate was studied under controlled pH and CO2 conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Forms of Aqueous Aluminum in Acidified Catchments of Central Ontario: A Methodological Analysis

TL;DR: During spring snowmelt in the Muskoka–Haliburton region of central Ontario, very little polymeric and amorphous aluminum was found, and most of the inorganic monomeric fraction was in the fluoride complexes.

Systematic study of the solvent extraction of metal oxinates

J. Starý
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of pH, oxine concentration and water-soluble complexing agents (oxalic acid, tartaric acid and hydrocyanic acid) have been investigated.
