Does fiscal decentralization and eco-innovation promote renewable energy consumption? Analyzing the role of political risk.

TLDR
The results confirm that fiscal decentralization and eco-innovation promote renewable energy consumption and lower non-renewable energy use and recommend that transferring the power to the local governments will further improve energy efficiency and switch these countries' energy mix towards more sustainable sources of energy.

A simple panel unit root test in the presence of cross-section dependence

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple alternative where the standard ADF regressions are augmented with the cross section averages of lagged levels and first-differences of the individual series is proposed, and it is shown that the individual CADF statistics are asymptotically similar and do not depend on the factor loadings.

Estimation and Inference in Large Heterogeneous Panels with a Multifactor Error Structure

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new approach to estimation and inference in panel data models with a multifactor error structure where the unobserved common factors are correlated with exogenously given individual-specific regressors, and the factor loadings differ over the cross-section units.

Testing for error correction in panel data

TL;DR: This article proposed new error correction-based cointegration tests for panel data, which have good small-sample properties with small size distortions and high power relative to other popular residual-based panel coIntegration tests.
