Abstract
In this paper a new method for Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) simulator development is proposed using dedicated TMS320F28335 DSP controller for application of aircraft Starter Generator System (SGS). In this application, it is required to maintain desired speed-torque profile. The dynamic mathematical model of SGS is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK which consists of subsystems such as AC exciter and synchronous machine modeled in dq reference frame. The desired speed of the synchronous machine is controlled using vector control algorithm. The performance of SGS for control algorithm is validated in the simulation environment. A new tool known as “auto code generation” is introduced, which is capable of generating assembly language code for real time simulation of electric drives. The results of real time simulation are compared with the Matlab simulation results are presented.
