TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show the correlations between mechanical properties of API 5L-X70 steel plates and the strain degree applied during the finishing stage of controlled rolling and show that heavy thickness reduction during the final stage has little effect over mechanical strength, but significantly improves toughness.
