In this paper, the conditions for electroless nickel-boron plating, the process mechanism, and the structure of the alloys asplated and after annealing at 150°-700°C were investigated.
Abstract
The conditions for electroless nickel‐boron plating, the process mechanism, and the structure of the alloys as‐plated and after annealing at 150°–700°C were investigated. A correlation of the mechanical and magnetic properties with the changes of phase structure was established.

Recent Developments in Electroless Plating

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the borogluconate complexing agent has been evaluated for alkaline and acid bath types for electroless plating over the past three years.

Inorganic salts stabilizers effect in electroless nickel-boron plating: Stabilization mechanism and microstructure modification

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a simple way to preselect metallic ions that can act as a stabilizing agent in electroless nickel-boron plating, based on three aspects: the redox potential of the cation, the catalytic activity for hydrogenation and the atomic size of the metal.

Electroless nickel-boron plating to improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium (Mg) alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, the Ni-B plating methodology is presented and its electroless plating mechanism is proposed, and the deposited Ni-b layer on AZ91D is then systematically characterized for its microstructure, porosity, thickness, adhesion and corrosion resistance.

Electron microscopy study of chemically deposited Ni-P films

TL;DR: In this paper, the structure of Ni-P has been studied and the selected area diffraction pattern of the samples reveal that certain samples transform to crystalline Ni with P in solid solution by nucleation and growth, whereas others transform to crystaline state by growth alone.

Roughness Optimization of Electroless Ni-B Coatings Using Taguchi Method

TL;DR: An experimental study of roughness characteristics of electroless Ni-B coatings and optimization of the coating process parameters based on L27 Taguchi orthogonal design yields the optimum coating parameter combination for minimum roughness.
