It was concluded that the workshop brought relatively stable changes toward greater perceived internal control, and movement was in the anticipated direction, toward greater internal control.
Abstract
Summary This study investigated changes in locus of control occurring among participants in a workshop designed to eliminate self-defeating behaviors. Experimental (n = 18) and control (n = 18) groups were composed of male and female university students. An analysis of covariance indicated that the treatment group moved significantly more than the control group (p < .001) on the Rotter I-E Scale, and movement was in the anticipated direction, toward greater internal control. The increased internal control was maintained in a follow-up administration of the I-E Scale four months later. It was concluded that the workshop brought relatively stable changes toward greater perceived internal control. Implications were discussed.

The effects of an entrepreneurship programme on Need for Achievement and Locus of Control of reinforcement

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the change in n Achievement and Locus of Control of individuals in an 9 months entrepreneurship program and found a statistically significant increase in achievement (t = 3.33, p < 0.005) and in internal locus of control (t < 3.63, p = 0.001) as a result of participating in entrepreneurship education.

Intraindividual variability in perceived locus of control in adults: P-technique factor analyses of short-term change

TL;DR: Levenson's locus of control scale was adapted for use in a measurement-intensive P-technique study involving 10 participants (5 mothers and fathers who were expecting their first child) to examine the extent to which responses manifested systematic liability.

Generalized expectancies for internal versus external control of reinforcement.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of reward or reinforcement on preceding behavior depend in part on whether the person perceives the reward as contingent on his own behavior or independent of it, and individuals may also differ in generalized expectancies for internal versus external control of reinforcement.

Effects of a Structured Camp Experience on Locus of Control Orientation.

TL;DR: In Inner-city teenagers (n = 261) experienced a structured camp program for a week, it was predicted and found that this experience led to a change toward internality, in the locus of control orientation of these youngsters.
