Abstract
This text gives an account of an ellipsoidal calculus and ellipsoidal techniques that allows presentation of the set-valued solutions to these problems in terms of approximating ellipsoidal-valued functions. Such an approach leads to effective computation schemes, an dopens the way to applications and implementations with computer animation, particularly in decision support systems. The problems treated here are those that involve calculation of attainability domains, of control synthesis under bounded controls, state constraints and unknown input disturbances, as well as those of "viability" and of the "bounding approach" to state estimation. The text ranges from a specially developed theory of exact set-valued solutions to the description of ellipsoidal calculus, related ellipsoidal-based methods and examples worked out with computer graphics. the calculus given here may also be interpreted as a generalized technique of the "interval analysis" type with an impact on scientific computation.

Reachable Set Analysis of Vehicular Platooning in Adversarial Environment

TL;DR: A method based on reachable set theory is proposed to investigate adversarial behavior in automated vehicle platoons and investigates the extent of an attacker's ability to manipulate the control variables and states of a platoon resulting in oscillatory motion or collision.

Random distribution of polydisperse ellipsoidal inclusions and homogenization estimates for porous elastic materials

TL;DR: In this paper, an extension of the well-known random sequential adsorption (RSA) method in the context of non-overlapping random mono- and polydisperse ellipsoidal inclusions is proposed.

Ellipsoidal Calculus for Estimation and Feedback Control

TL;DR: This paper deals with problems of guaranteed control synthesis and set-valued estimation for systems that operate under “set-membership uncertainty” - unknown but bounded inputs and disturbances and presents a unified approach to these topics based on descriptions involving the notions of set- valued calculus.

Robust and Automatic Data-Adaptive Beamforming for Multidimensional Arrays

TL;DR: This work examines robust Capon beamforming of multidimensional arrays, where robustness to AOA errors is needed in both azimuth and elevation, and proposes the use of flat ellipsoidal sets to control the AOA uncertainty.

On synthesizing team target controls under obstacles and collision avoidance

TL;DR: The specification of the desired on-line team feedback control strategies then relies on calculating related backward reachability sets, which are achieved through duality methods of nonlinear analysis and an optimization problem for team target control is finally solved.
