Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of manganese content and microstructure on the susceptibility of X70 pipeline steel to hydrogen cracking

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of composition and microstructure on susceptibility to hydrogen induced cracking was investigated in high strength pipeline steels, with Mn contents of 1.2% (standard, X70), and 0.5% (medium, MX70).
Journal ArticleDOI

ε-Carbide in alloy steels: First-principles assessment

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the silicon can enhance the formation of e-carbide; the mechanism of this effect is not understood and the absence of appropriate thermodynamic data makes it impossible to conduct calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Small punch test: An approach to solve the inverse problem by deformation shape and finite element optimization

TL;DR: In this article, a small punch test methodology and results that used experimental deformation shape parameters, finite element modeling, and pattern search optimization, to solve the inverse problem yielded three coefficients of a plasticity function that approximately described the true stress-true strain relationship for an annealed mild steel sample.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Carbide Precipitation and Mechanical Properties of Tool Steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of deep cryogenic treatment on wear resistance of tool steel has been investigated, where the microstructure of the tool steel was observed using TEM and the mechanical properties and wear resistance were examined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neem extract as an inhibitor for biocorrosion influenced by sulfate reducing bacteria: A preliminary investigation

TL;DR: In this paper, the inhibition effect of Neem extract on microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) of API 5L X80 linepipe steel by a sulfate-reducing bacterial (SRB) consortium was investigated.
