Factors affecting shoot proliferation and root initiation in organ cultures of the apple ‘Northern Spy’

James F. Hutchinson

TLDR
Roots can be readily induced with IBA, but salt concentration and the physical support on which shoot-tips are grown influence both root initiation and growth, and half-strength salts and 1 μM IBA gave best root initiation.

Rapid clonal propagation of guava through in vitro shoot proliferation on nodal explants of mature trees

TL;DR: In vitro clonal propagation of guava ‘Banaras local’ was achieved by culturing nodal explants of mature trees on Murashige and Skoog with a revised medium supplemented with 4.5 μM 6-benzyladanine alone or in combination with either 0.6 μM indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) or 0.3 μM gibberellic acid (GA3).

Transformation of Apple Rootstock M26 with Agrobacterium tumefaciens

TL;DR: Different tissues of the apple rootstock M26 were inoculated with various wild-type strains of Agrobacterium tumefaciens, and galls formed on leaf but not on stem or petiole explants.

Rapid clonal propagation of three mulberries,Morus cathayana HemsL,M. lhou Koiz. andM. serrata Roxb., through in vitro culture of apical shoot buds and nodal explants from mature trees.

TL;DR: High-frequency bud break and multiple shoots were induced in apical shoot buds and nodal explants oforus cathayana, M. lhou and M. serrata on Murashige and Skoog medium containing 0.5–1.0 mg/l 6-benzylaminopurine along with gibberellic acid, which enhanced the frequency of bud break in all three species.

Plant propagation through tissue culture

P Allan
TL;DR: There are numerous methods of vegetative propagation varying from naturally detachable structures (bulbs & corns), through many kinds of cuttings to methods of budding and grafting — all of which lead to the production of genetically uniform plants i.e. a clone.

Regeneration of apple plants from shoot meristem-tips

W.David Lane
TL;DR: Pear plants were regenerated from shoot meristem-tips in vitro and Benzyladenine at 5 μM was optimal for shoot multiplication which was also enhanced by tip removal and horizontal or inverted orientation to decrease apical dominance.
