Journal ArticleDOI

Surgical evaluation of endoscopic retrograde cholangiography for biliary tract diseases

TL;DR: As ERC was successful in 3 out of 9 patients in whom this approach was unsuccessful in the first trial, ERC should probably be repeated if such was indeed required pre-operatively, and Diagnostic significance of DIC before ERC revealed that such plays a definite role in screening patients.

Difficult Biliary Cannulation in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography: Definitions, Risk Factors, and Implications.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a primer on standard biliary cannulation techniques and discuss the definition, risk factors, and implications of difficult biliary bolus cannulation in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
Journal ArticleDOI

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.

TL;DR: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography accurately assesses the site and cause of biliary tract obstruction in patients with chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer and is a therapeutic option in selected patients with choledocholithiasis and papillary stenosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diagnosis of chronic pancreatic disease.

TL;DR: The diagnosis of pancreatic disease is difficult and the first step is clinical suspicion, based on the symptoms and signs, whereas the second is answered by using techniques to demonstrate structural abnormalities of the pancreas.

Aspects of interventional endoscopic treatment of common bile duct stones

Fredrik Swahn
TL;DR: The peroperative combination of laparoscopy and endoscopy, with so-called rendezvous ERCP (RV-ERCP) is by comparison with conventional E RCP, a safe and efficient treatment method regarding feasibility in clinical practice, complete stone clearance and ERCp associated complications.
