Flavonoid biocides: Structure/activity relations of flavonoid phytoalexin analogues

TL;DR: The observed structure/activity relationships suggest that these analogues, and the phytoalexins, function primarily as uncouplers of oxidative phosphorylation, which appears to be the main factors affecting the antifungal activity of flavonoids.

Polyphenolic constituent structures of Zanthoxylum piperitum fruit and the antibacterial effects of its polymeric procyanidin on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

TL;DR: It is found that ZP-CT-A, a polymeric proanthocyanidin purified from the fruit of this species, noticeably decreased the minimum inhibitory concentrations of β-lactam antibiotics for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Antifungal activity of phenolics against fungi commonly encountered during storage

TL;DR: Benzoic acid derivatives, cinnamic acid derivatives and flavonoids were tested for antifungal activity in agarglucose broth agaìnst five furigal pathogens (Botrytis cinerea, Penicillium digitatum, Sderotinia sderotiorum, Fusarium oxysporum and Altemaria sp.) commonly found during the storage of fruits and vegetables as mentioned in this paper.
