High-bandwidth absorption-spectroscopy measurements of temperature, pressure, CO, and H $$_2$$ 2 O in the annulus of a rotating detonation rocket engine

TL;DR: In this paper, two laser-absorption-spectroscopy diagnostics capable of performing high-bandwidth measurements of (1) temperature, pressure, and CO, and (2) temperature and CO partial pressure in the annular combustion chamber of a rotating detonation rocket engine (RDRE) are presented.

Simultaneous 100-kHz acetone planar laser-induced fluorescence and OH* chemiluminescence in a linear non-premixed detonation channel

TL;DR: In this article , an optically accessible, self-excited linear detonation combustor is investigated using planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) imaging of acetone as a tracer in the fuel supply, while 100 kHz chemiluminescence imaging of excited-state hydroxyl radicals simultaneously resolves the evolution of the detonation wave.

Kiel Probes for Stagnation Pressure Measurement in Rotating Detonation Combustors

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the response of a Kiel probe in highly unsteady flow, similar to what would be encountered in an RDC, to an underexpanded starting jet behind an incident shock with Mach numbers of 1.6-2.7, emanating from a tube with a reservoir ratio of about 394.
