Fractional Order PID Controller based DC-DC Boost Converter for Efficient Electric Vehicles Charging by Solar PV Plant

TLDR
In this paper, a PV module with a DC-DC boost converter governed through a fractional order PID (FOPID) controller was designed and investigated for determining the best output variables for the solar photo-voltaic (SPV) plant and the input conditions and gains for the FOPID controller.
Abstract
This paper discusses the design as well as investigation of a PV module with a DC-DC boost converter governed through a fractional order PID (FOPID) controller. The study involves determining the best output variables for the solar photo-voltaic (SPV) plant as well as the input conditions and gains for the FOPID controller. The performance of the booster demonstrates that the designed optimal FOPID controller could indeed enhance the feedback device’s transient response besides lowering control activity with the best PID controller. The FOPID controller also improves the boost converter’s capability to track in voltage source. The outcomes indicate that the designed method outperforms in two areas: determining the variables of the PV model as well as determining the optimum conditions for the FOPID controller.
