The concept of information functions of type β ( β > 0) is introduced and discussed. By means of these information functions the entropies of type β are defined. These entropies have a number of interesting algebraic and analytic properties similar to Shannon's entropy. The capacity of type β ( β > 1) of a discrete constant channel is defined by means of the entropy of type β . Examples are given for the computation of the capacity of type β , from which the Shannon's capacity can be derived as the limiting case β = 1.read more

On measure-theoretic aspects of nonextensive entropy functionals and corresponding maximum entropy prescriptions
TL;DR: It is proved that, as in the case of classical relative-entropy, the measure-theoretic definition of Tsallis relative-ENTropy is a natural extension of its discrete case, and it is shown that ME-prescriptions of measure- theoretic Tsalis entropy are consistent with the discrete case with respect to a particular instance of ME.

On the statistical interpretation of generalized entropies
TL;DR: A direct generalization of the Boltzmann counting method is presented to define a generic form for a generalized entropy based on the probabilities of sequences of a stochastic process.

Trigonometric entropy types in thermodynamics of nonextensive systems
TL;DR: The Abel entropy group is defined and the general law of composition of nonadditive entropy types with quadratic nonlinearity is derived in this paper, where the trigonometric entropy types are introduced and equilibrium distributions are determined on their basis.
On Certainty and Generalized Information Measures
TL;DR: By considering the relation between certainty and information, three generalized classes of information measures have been derived, which include the information measures studied by Van der Lubbe et al. as their special cases.
