TLDR
In this paper, a generic presentation of the large deflection, postbuckling and nonlinear flexural vibration behavior of antisymmetric angle-ply laminated plates is investigated, and a transformation between on-axis and off-axis stiffnesses is presented such that all the stiffnesses, including bending-stretching coupling, in the nonlinear governing equations of angle laminates can be expressed in terms of bounded global constants in orthotropic plates.

Postbuckling behaviour of optimized rectangular composite laminates

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of laminate optimization on the postbuckling behavior of biaxially compressed, specially orthotropic laminates are considered and modifications of the lamination parameters to improve post-buckling performance are suggested.

Nonlinear free and forced vibrations of anti-symmetric angle-ply hybrid laminated rectangular plates

TL;DR: In this article, the nonlinear equations of motion for anti-symmetric angle-ply composite rectangular plates have been derived using the first-order shear deformation theory.

Nondimensional Parameters and Equations for Nonlinear and Bifurcation Analyses of Thin Anisotropic Quasi-Shallow Shells

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive development of non-dimensional parameters and equations for nonlinear and bifurcations analyses of quasi-shallow shells, based on the Donnell-Mushtari-Vlasov theory for thin anisotropic shells, is presented.

A Leonard-Sanders-Budiansky-Koiter-Type Nonlinear Shell Theory with a Hierarchy of Transverse-Shearing Deformations

TL;DR: A detailed exposition on a refined nonlinear shell theory suitable for nonlinear buckling analyses of laminated-composite shell structures is presented in this paper, which is based on "small" strains and "moderate" rotations.

Postbuckling and Vibration Analysis of Antisymmetric Angle-Ply Composite Plates

TL;DR: In this article, the nonlinear partial differential equations of equilibrium are derived based on higher-order shear deformation theory, incorporating von Karman nonlinear strain displacement relations and initial geometric imperfections.

Generic buckling curves for specially orthotropic rectangular plates

TL;DR: In this article, the buckling equation for specially orthotropic plates and the corresponding virtual work theorem are presented in a particularly simple fashion using a double affine transformation, where the dual representations are characterized by a single material constant, called the generalized rigidity ratio, whose range is predicted to be the closed interval from 0 to 1.

Postbuckling of orthotropic composite plates loaded in compression

TL;DR: In this article, the von Karman equations for orthotropic plates were used to determine the parameters required to establish postbuckling behavior, and it was found that only two new parameters are needed beyond those required for buckling.
