Glucose ester derivatives of aminosalicylic acids
TLDR
The free‐amino ester of 4-amino‐salicylic acid was obtained in excellent yield for tuberculostatic and toxicity determinations and the protected glucose esters were found to be stable.Abstract:
Glucose esters of 4‐ and 5‐aminosalicylic acid were obtainable by reaction of the benzyloxynitrobenzoic acid chlorides with diacetone glucose, followed by catalytic hydrogenation of the nitro groups. Conversion of the amines to hydrochlorides removed one or both of the acetone groups from the glucose. Complete removal of the acetone groups gave a glucose ester that was unstable on standing, but the protected glucose esters were found to be stable. The free‐amino ester of 4‐amino‐salicylic acid was obtained in excellent yield for tuberculostatic and toxicity determinations.read more

Clinical applications of pharmacogenomics guided warfarin dosing
TL;DR: Several studies have shown that pharmacogenomic testing for warfarin dosing is more accurate that other dosing schemes, and improves time to a therapeutic international normalized ratio while requiring fewer dosing adjustments.

Sustained impact of anticoagulant control achieved in an anticoagulation management service after transfer of management to the primary care physician.
TL;DR: To determine whether the impact of anticoagulant control achieved in an Anticoagulation Management Service (AMS) is sustained after transfer of antICOagulation management to the primary care physician (PCP), and to assess patient satisfaction with their anticoAGulation management by both the AMS and PCP.

Patient-focused interventions to support vulnerable people using oral anticoagulants: a narrative review.
Angela Yiu,Beata Bajorek +1 more
TL;DR: More research on patient-focused interventions that have been trialed to support vulnerable patient populations taking oral anticoagulants such as older persons, those with limited health literacy, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds are needed.

Pharmacist-led medicine use review in community pharmacy for patients on warfarin.

TL;DR: The high percentage of accepted recommendations and the improvement in INR control indicate that a pharmacist-led medication use review service in community pharmacy contributes to improving anticoagulation therapy management in patients on warfarin.

Point-of-care testing in pharmacies—An evaluation of the service from the lens of resource-based theory of competitive advantage
TL;DR: The RBT is a widely tested framework that can be used for planning and reporting POCT practice innovations and pharmacists seem to do a good job in describing how to provide POCT but fall short in explaining how these services are sustainable over time.

Quantitative Organic Analysis Via Functional Groups
TL;DR: In this paper, the methods for identifying and measuring the amounts of organic constituents present in materials are described, either in the pure state or in complex mixtures, using functional groups as the analytical handle for measuring the compounds being studied, and shows interrelationships between methods.
