Abstract
In this paper we discuss the Half Fourier Transform (HFT) and explore its application to radar-return signals with specular components It is shown that this transform enables separation of the desired part from the specular impulsive components The effectiveness of this technique and the computer program developed, is demonstrated by simulation examples Our program uses an optimization package which performs minimization of a nonlinear sum-of-squares functional with a model trust region strategy

The Fractional Order Fourier Transform and its Application to Quantum Mechanics

TL;DR: In this article, a generalized operational calculus is developed, paralleling the familiar one for the ordinary transform, which provides a convenient technique for solving certain classes of ordinary and partial differential equations which arise in quantum mechanics from classical quadratic hamiltonians.

An Adaptive Nonlinear Least-Squares Algorithm

TL;DR: NL2SOL is a modular program for solving nonlinear least-squares problems that incorporate a number of novel features and maintains a secant approximation S to the second-order part of the least-Squares Hessian and adaptively decides when to use this approximation.

A discussion of various approaches to the identification/approximation problem

TL;DR: In this article, the identification/approximation of a linear system by poles and residues from a measured finite length input-output record of the system is discussed, and it is shown that several different formulations for characterizing the impulse response of a system yield the same set of poles.
