Abstract
There are provided an image processing system, a learning device and a method, and a program capable of easily extracting a characteristic amount used for recognition processing. A characteristic point is extracted from a learning model image. According to the characteristic point, a characteristic amount is extracted. The characteristic amount is registered in a leaning model dictionary registration unit (23). Similarly, a characteristic point is extracted from a leaning input image containing a model object contained in the learning model image. According to the characteristic point, a characteristic amount is extracted. The characteristic amount is compared to the characteristic amount registered in the learning model registration unit (23). As the comparison result, the characteristic amount which has become a pair most frequently is registered as a characteristic amount used for recognition processing in a model dictionary registration unit (12). The present invention may be applied to a robot.

Information processing apparatus, information processing method and program

TL;DR: In this article, a method for modifying an image is presented, which consists of displaying an image, the image comprising a portion of an object; determining if an edge of the object is in a location within the portion; and detecting movement in a member direction, of an operating member with respect to the edge.

Method for determining the pose of a camera and for recognizing an object of a real environment

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for determining the pose of a camera relative to a real environment is proposed, which is based on a tracking method that evaluates information with respect to correspondences between features associated with the real objects and corresponding features of the real object as it is contained in the real environment.

Image processing apparatus, image processing method and program

TL;DR: In this article, an image processing method performs reduction processing on an input image to acquire a reduced image, extracts a feature point from a group of images including the input image and one or more of the reduced images, determines as a matched feature point the feature point extracted from a matching position in each of two or more images in the group, calculates a local feature quantity of the matched feature points determined by the determination unit, and registers the calculated local feature quantities as a local image feature quantity.

Image processing apparatus and image retrieval method

TL;DR: In this paper, a plurality of feature points, comprising a local feature amount, from an inputted image, and a region information that relates to the feature point, are identified and associated as an index of the input image.

Motion-assisted visual language for human computer interfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, a computer-implement method for recognizing a visual gesture portrayed by a part of human body such as a human hand, face or body was presented, where the method includes steps of receiving the visual signature captured in a video having multiple video frames, determining a gesture recognition type from multiple gesture recognition types including shaped-based gesture, position based gesture, motion-assisted and mixed gesture that combining two different gesture types.

Distinctive Image Features from Scale-Invariant Keypoints

TL;DR: This paper presents a method for extracting distinctive invariant features from images that can be used to perform reliable matching between different views of an object or scene and can robustly identify objects among clutter and occlusion while achieving near real-time performance.

Object recognition from local scale-invariant features

TL;DR: Experimental results show that robust object recognition can be achieved in cluttered partially occluded images with a computation time of under 2 seconds.

Local grayvalue invariants for image retrieval

TL;DR: This paper addresses the problem of retrieving images from large image databases with a method based on local grayvalue invariants which are computed at automatically detected interest points and allows for efficient retrieval from a database of more than 1,000 images.

Indexing based on scale invariant interest points

TL;DR: In this article, scale invariant interest points are used for image indexing, which is based on two recent results on scale space: (1) interest points can be adapted to scale and give repeatable results (geometrically stable).

Image processing method and apparatus

TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus for matching features in images of objects taken from different viewpoints is provided, consisting of an image buffer ( 60 ) for receiving image data; and output buffer ( 62 ) for outputting pairs of matched features and processing means ( 64-78 ) for processing received image data to determine matched pairs of feature in images.
