TLDR
The 26th International Conference on Information Modelling and Knowledge Bases (EJC) as mentioned in this paper was held in Tampere, Finland, in June 2016, and the 33 accepted papers cover topics including: conceptual modelling; knowledge and information modelling and discovery; linguistic modelling; cross-cultural communication and social computing; environmental modelling and engineering; and multimedia data modelling and systems.Abstract:
Information modelling and knowledge bases are now essential, not only to academics working in computer science, but also wherever information technology is applied. This book presents papers from the 26th International Conference on Information Modelling and Knowledge Bases (formerly the European Japanese Conference – EJC), which took place in Tampere, Finland, in June 2016. The conference provides a platform to bring together researchers and practitioners working with information modelling and knowledge bases, and the 33 accepted papers cover topics including: conceptual modelling; knowledge and information modelling and discovery; linguistic modelling; cross-cultural communication and social computing; environmental modelling and engineering; and multimedia data modelling and systems. All papers were improved and resubmitted for publication after the conference. Covering state-of- the-art research and practice, the book will be of interest to all those whose work involves information modelling and knowledge bases.read more

Formal Ontology Engineering in the DOGMA Approach
Mustafa Jarrar,Robert Meersman +1 more
TL;DR: This paper presents a specifically database-inspired approach (called DOGMA) for engineering formal ontologies, implemented as shared resources used to express agreed formal semantics for a real world domain, and claims it leads to methodological approaches that naturally extend key aspects of database modeling theory and practice.

Methodologies, Tools and Languages for Ontology Design
TL;DR: This chapter offers a review of some of the most important ontology development methodologies, tools and languages, and suggests an expert-based approach to the development of professional knowledge-based legal ontologies.

Domain analysis for business software systems
A. T. Berztiss,A. T. Berztiss +1 more
TL;DR: A partition of domain models into concept models and process models is discussed, their structure and representation are discussed, and the models in relation to the new trends are examined.
It s Time to Link! On the Development of Time-Sensitive Linking Structures for the Web
TL;DR: It is demonstrated in this thesis that XLink’s (XML Linking Language) multiple linking, link traversal rules and linkbases with a timerule namespace extension can be used to realize time-sensitive linking structures in professional Web-based applications.
