Metabolism and possible health effects of aluminum.
TL;DR: A hypothetical model is presented for the metabolism of aluminum, based on documented direct observations of Al3+ and analogies from other ions, and it is proposed that an accumulation may take place at a subcellular level without any significant increase in the corresponding tissue concentration.
Journal ArticleDOI
WHO guidelines for drinking-water quality.
TL;DR: In this paper, the introduction of new water mto old distribution systems was discussed, and the water quality changes-chemical and microbiological studies were carried out by using water distrzbution systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aluminum in the environment and human health.
TL;DR: It is concluded that absorption and retention or accumulation of Al in humans occurs at lower levels of intake than had been assumed formerly, and levels of 5 to 50 times the normal daily intake do not appear to interfere with other metabolic processes.

Trace metals in man: Strontium and barium☆
Henry A. Schroeder,Henry A. Schroeder,Henry A. Schroeder,Isabel H. Tipton,Isabel H. Tipton,Isabel H. Tipton,Alexis P. Nason,Alexis P. Nason,Alexis P. Nason +8 more
TL;DR: Although the actual amounts of exposures of the population were small, the greatest health hazard to the population at large came from atmospheric testing of atomic bombs, O”Sr being a fission product.
Journal ArticleDOI
A review of the health impacts of barium from natural and anthropogenic exposure
TL;DR: A systematic literature review on environmental distribution of barium, its bioaccumulation, and potential and proven health impacts (in animal models and humans) is suggested to provide the information that can be used for optimization of future experimental and epidemiological studies and developing of mitigative and preventive strategies to minimize negative health effects in exposed populations.

The Composition of Foods
TL;DR: Until recently it has generally been the custom in this country to put cases of gonorrhoea on surveillance for three months but that this may not be long enough is suggested in the case described.

Essential trace metals in man: copper.
TL;DR: In the modern age, Western civilization has become even more dependent upon copper, which has provided the means for the enormous advances based on electricity during the past 80 years.
