TLDR
In this paper, a parametric analysis is done to investigate the influence of typical governing parameters for such a physical situation, and numerical results for engineering parameters such as pressure field, friction coefficient, axial flow rate and dimensionless load capacity are produced as functions of such parameters.

Numerical analysis of plain journal bearing under hydrodynamic lubrication by water

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of eccentricity ratio on pressure distribution of water film are analyzed by computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and numerical analysis of journal bearings with different dimensions is undertaken under different rotational speeds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Friction and wear characteristics of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) composites containing glass fibers and carbon fibers under dry and water-lubricated conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of introducing glass fiber and/or carbon fiber (CF) filler materials on the friction and wear characteristics of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)-based composites were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on wear behaviours for NBR/stainless steel under sand water-lubricated conditions

TL;DR: In this article, a CBZ-1 tribo-tester was used to conduct sliding wear tests under the sand and pure water-lubricated conditions, and the results showed that the sliding velocity, applied load and mass concentration of sand had significant effects on the tribological properties of the rubbing pairs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis on design parameters of water-lubricated journal bearings under hydrodynamic lubrication

TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between eccentricity ratio and the Sommerfeld number based on hydrodynamic water-lubricated journal bearings was investigated, considering the differences between the two values.
Journal ArticleDOI

CFD analysis of load-carrying capacity of hydrodynamic lubrication on a water-lubricated journal bearing

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new bearing bush with a transition-arc structure, which is favorable for increasing hydrodynamic load-carrying capacity of a water-lubricated journal bearing.
