Seismic interpretation, reservoir characterization, gas origin and entrapment of the Miocene-Pliocene Mangaa C sandstone, Karewa Gas Field, North Taranaki Basin, New Zealand

TL;DR: Karewa gas discovery highlighted the potential for commercial gas accumulations in the shallow Miocene-Pliocene stratigraphic horizons, thus changing the exploration strategy in Taranaki Basin, New Zealand as mentioned in this paper .

Facies analysis-constrained geophysical 3D-static reservoir modeling of Cenomanian units in the Aghar Oilfield (Western Desert, Egypt): Insights into paleoenvironment and petroleum geology of fluviomarine systems

TL;DR: In this article, a facies-constrained 3D-static reservoir geocellular modeling and 1D basin modeling were performed for the purpose of adequately identifying the architectural elements, and charge timing, of such an important reservoir.

Geophysical 3D-static reservoir and basin modeling of a Jurassic estuarine system (JG-Oilfield, Abu Gharadig basin, Egypt)

TL;DR: In this paper , an integrated approach of various facies analysis and modeling-related disciplines; e.g., seismic facies, and GR-log motifs; was applied, in this study, to develop a depositional-model capable of aiding in stochastically mapping reservoir heterogeneity and quality of the Jurassic estuarine depositional system at JG-Field.

Evaluation of a Simple Model of Vitrinite Reflectance Based on Chemical Kinetics

Jerry J. Sweeney, +1 more
- 01 Oct 1990 -
TL;DR: In this article, a simplified version of a vitrinite maturation model, called EASY%R[o], was presented, which uses an Arrhenius first-order parallel-reaction approach with a distribution of activation energies.

A Practical Model for Organic Richness from Porosity and Resistivity Logs

TL;DR: The delta log R technique as discussed by the authors employs the overlaying of a properly scaled porosity log (generally the sonic transit time curve) on a resistivity curve (preferably from a deep-reading tool) for identifying and calculating total organic carbon in organic-rich rocks.
