Abstract
In this chapter, digital filter are discussed. Digital signal processing (DSP) is an established method of filtering electrical waveforms and digital images, and it is an important topic in a number of diverse fields of science and technology. The realisation of the many practical applications has been made possible by the increased availability and falling costs of sophisticated very-large-scale integrated (VLSI) circuits. In particular, the ubiquitous microprocessor and associated peripheral chips provide the means of implementing relatively simple and cost-effective digital filters.

Active noise control systems

TL;DR: In this article, the fundamental conditions required for cancellation are derived in terms of the power spectral densities of the primary and secondary waves, which are in turn related to the geometry-related and source-related parameters of the system.

Fifty Years of Artificial Reverberation

TL;DR: An improved parametric model for a spring reverberation unit is presented, which is currently mainly used for simplified geometries or to generate reverberation impulse responses for use with a convolution method.

Efficient driver drowsiness detection at moderate levels of drowsiness

TL;DR: The research findings indicated that steering wheel variability provides a basis for developing a cost-effective and easy-to-install alternative technology for in-vehicle driver drowsiness detection at moderate levels of fatigue.

The effect of filtering on Granger causality based multivariate causality measures.

TL;DR: Simulation results suggest that preprocessing without a strong prior about the artifact to be removed disturbs the information content and time ordering of the data and leads to spurious and missed causalities.

Data processing and experiment design for the restoring force surface method, part I: integration and differentiation of measured time data

TL;DR: The restoring force methods of system identification, which include the Masri/Caughey procedure, require the simultaneous measurement of acceleration, velocity and displacement data.
