TLDR
In this paper , the authors analyzed the impact of digitalization on environmental performance, using a database of 25 European countries over the period 2015-2020 and found that the digital transformation process, especially digital skills, business digitization, and digital public services, enhances environmental performance.

Strengthening waste recycling industry in Malang (Indonesia): Lessons from waste management in the era of Industry 4.0

TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated how to strengthen waste recycling industry in Malang using digitalization-based circular economy (CE) according to Nanning's experiences in digitalizing waste recycling and found that lessons learnt from Nanning in waste management were transferable and applicable for Malang to replicate its model, while paving the way forward for a transition towards a CE in waste sector.
Journal ArticleDOI

How do natural resources, digitalization, and institutional governance contribute to ecological sustainability through load capacity factors in highly resource-consuming economies?

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the role of natural resources, digitalization, governance, and economic growth in improving the load capacity factor (LCF) of high-resource consuming economies from 1996 to 2019.
Journal ArticleDOI

Digitalisation as the Indicator of the Evidence of Sustainability in the European Union

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the relationship between digitalisation and sustainability in the European Union countries by using data available in Eurostat and UNECE public databases and found that only mobile-cellular subscriptions and fixed-broadband sub-basket prices in part do not affect researched sustainable development indicators.
Journal ArticleDOI

Digitalization and environmental performance: An empirical analysis of Chinese textile and apparel industry

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the effects of digitalization on environmental performance in the Chinese traditional high-polluting textile and apparel industry and found that strong technical background, financial background and high education levels of the top management team positively moderate the relationship.

Testing for unit roots in heterogeneous panels

TL;DR: In this article, a unit root test for dynamic heterogeneous panels based on the mean of individual unit root statistics is proposed, which converges in probability to a standard normal variate sequentially with T (the time series dimension) →∞, followed by N (the cross sectional dimension)→∞.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unit root tests in panel data: asymptotic and finite-sample properties

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider pooling cross-section time series data for testing the unit root hypothesis, and they show that the power of the panel-based unit root test is dramatically higher, compared to performing a separate unit-root test for each individual time series.
Journal ArticleDOI

What to do (and not to do) with time-series cross-section data

TL;DR: The generalized least squares approach of Parks produces standard errors that lead to extreme overconfidence, often underestimating variability by 50% or more, and a new method is offered that is both easier to implement and produces accurate standard errors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimating long-run relationships from dynamic heterogeneous panels☆

TL;DR: In panel data four procedures are widely used: pooling, aggregating, averaging group estimates, and cross-section regression as discussed by the authors, and the theoretical results on the properties of these procedures are illustrated by UK labour demand functions for 38 industries over 30 years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Panel cointegration: asymptotic and finite sample properties of pooled time series tests with an application to the ppp hypothesis

TL;DR: This paper examined properties of residual-based tests for the null of no cointegration for dynamic panels in which both the short-run dynamics and the long-run slope coefficients are permitted to be heterogeneous across individual members of the panel.
