TLDR
In this article, the authors describe how firefighters and first responders are called on to work in these hostile environments where their vision is impaired due to curtains of smoke and walls of flames.Abstract:
House fires cause thousands of deaths every year. Firefighters and first responders are called on to work in these hostile environments where their vision is impaired due to curtains of smoke and walls of flames.read more

Color calibration and fusion of lens-free and mobile-phone microscopy images for high-resolution and accurate color reproduction
TL;DR: It is shown that a lens-free holographic microscope in combination with a cost-effective mobile-phone-based microscope can generate color images of specimens, performing very close to a high numerical-aperture (NA) benchtop microscope that is corrected for color distortions and chromatic aberrations, also matching the chromatic response of human vision.
Journal ArticleDOI
Image restoration and color fusion of digital microscopes.
TL;DR: This method breaks the rule that the large field of view and high resolution of a traditional microscope cannot be simultaneously satisfied, which can realize a more comprehensive observation of the shape and details of the slice.

Non-scanning motionless fluorescence three-dimensional holographic microscopy
Joseph Rosen,Gary Brooker +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a motionless microscopy system (FINCHSCOPE) based on Fresnel incoherent correlation holography is presented for high-resolution 3D fluorescent images of biological speciments without the need for any moving parts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Full color natural light holographic camera
TL;DR: Full-color, three-dimensional images of objects under incoherent illumination are obtained by a digital holography technique based on self-interference of two beam-split copies of the object's optical field with differential curvatures based on a few mirrors and lenses, a piezo-actuator, and a color camera.

Digital Holographic Microscopy: Principles, Techniques, and Applications
TL;DR: Theoretical studies of digital holography can be found in this article, where the authors suppress DC and twin image terms in a phase shifting digital holographic system for low coherence and Tomographic techniques.

Adaptive optics by incoherent digital holography
TL;DR: This work proposes a new type of adaptive optics system that dispenses with the hardware lenslet arrays and deformable mirrors of conventional systems and achieves wavefront sensing and compensation of digital holograms of the incoherent object and a guide star.
