TLDR
Study results demonstrate that the Landsat method can improve GIS-based pesticide exposure estimation by matching more pesticide applications to crops classified using temporally concurrent Landsat images compared to the standard method that relies on infrequently updated land use survey (LUS) crop data.

ANNALS of the Association of American Geographers

TL;DR: In rural and small-town Nevada, Brothels are legal or openly tolerated and strictly controlled by state statute, city and county ordinances, and local rules as discussed by the authors, and the legal and quasi-legal restrictions placed on prostitutes severely limit their activities outside brothels.

Neural tube defects and maternal residential proximity to agricultural pesticide applications

TL;DR: Elevated risks of NTDs and anencephaly or spina bifida subtypes were also associated with exposures to chemicals classified as amide, benzimidazole, methyl carbamate, or organophosphorus pesticides and with increasing numbers of pesticides.

Prioritization Approaches for Substances of Emerging Concern in Groundwater: A Critical Review

TL;DR: A proposal for a prioritization framework for ECs in groundwater monitoring that enables priority lists to be updated as new information becomes available for substances with regard to their usage, physicochemical properties, and hazards is proposed.

Spatiotemporal exposure modeling of ambient erythemal ultraviolet radiation.

TL;DR: ATP residual kriging incorporating fine-scale spatial predictors can provide more accurate, high-resolution UVEry estimates compared to using NASA grids and can be used in epidemiologic studies examining the health effects of ambient UV.

The measurement of observer agreement for categorical data

TL;DR: A general statistical methodology for the analysis of multivariate categorical data arising from observer reliability studies is presented and tests for interobserver bias are presented in terms of first-order marginal homogeneity and measures of interob server agreement are developed as generalized kappa-type statistics.

Remote Sensing Digital Image Analysis: An Introduction

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an introduction to quantitative evaluation of satellite and aircraft derived from remotely retrieved data, without detailed mathematical treatment of computer based algorithms, but in a manner conductive to an understanding of their capabilities and limitations.

A survey of image classification methods and techniques for improving classification performance

TL;DR: It is suggested that designing a suitable image‐processing procedure is a prerequisite for a successful classification of remotely sensed data into a thematic map and the selection of a suitable classification method is especially significant for improving classification accuracy.
