TL;DR: This study estimates the economic losses attributable to a nonindigenous forest insect, the hemlock woolly adelgid (Adelges tsuga), using cross-sectional and difference-in-difference hedonic price models and concludes that failure to account for spatial spillover effects would downwardly bias estimates of economic losses.

The influence of ethical attitudes on the demand for environmental recreation: incorporating lexicographic preferences
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examine the relationship between different ethical attitudes toward environmental quality and the "use" values obtained from the environment, and show that individuals with duty-based ethical attitudes have recreation demand functions that are "kinked", exhibiting perfectly inelastic behavior over some range of income.
