Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of microstructure on the corrosion resistance of coatings by extreme high speed laser cladding
TL;DR: In this article, the corrosion resistance of 431 stainless coatings produced by a novel surface modification technology (EHLA) was analyzed and it was shown that higher cladding speeds lead to refined dendrites and uniform distribution of composition which were helpful for the improvement of the coating corrosion resistance.

An improved technique for determining hardness and elastic modulus using load and displacement sensing indentation experiments
Warren C. Oliver,George M. Pharr +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a Berkovich indenter to determine hardness and elastic modulus from indentation load-displacement data, and showed that the curve of the curve is not linear, even in the initial stages of the unloading process.

Analysis of crack behavior for Ni-based WC composite coatings by laser cladding and crack-free realization
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the crack behavior of Ni-based composite coatings by laser cladding and showed that cracks originated from the interface of the composite coating and the substrate, and then passed through precipitated carbides due to the dissolution of WC particles.
